why would they say "the first thing" wouldn't that be step 1 then?

25) Extract the file. You'll now have a .pkg file. Install it. After installation, reboot.

26) Eject your ModCD. Your Hackintosh can now boot on its own.

27) The system will start OS X, right to your desktop. Congratulations, you're now an OS X user! To get your Graphics card working, follow the Graphics Card Chapter beneath!
