a;dready downloaded the file. it did not work in my vista. when i press patch after following the readme instructions precisely, the keygen would say can't patch the file because it might be in use... but the program is not open.

tried it with xp and it worked. is there a way it can work in vista? thanks

Hey..........read the "LEER - READ" notepad note that comes with the download file...........vista install is mentioned.

In addition, you may want to disconnect from internet when installing, also follow instruction in notepad document. The manual patch is better than relying on the patch & generate only. That means zip & extract to directory for back-up!

Also, this patch seems to rely on administrator status (some patches do) so you must be signed in as the administrator. The reason for this being an issue for Vista or Windows XP Pro is because these OS are also capable of server settings and security features require the administrator sign in.

@Tune. Thanks for the helping hand. I followed everything in the LEER - READ notepad. To check:

Instructions:

1) Uninstall any previous version of TMPGEnc Authoring Works.

2) Delete the files in the folder:
C: \ Documents and Settings \ username \ Application Data \ Pegasys Inc \ TMPGEncAuthoringWorks4 \

This folder is hide, so you have to select in Windows Explorer, Tools menu and click Folder Options, Select the View Tab, Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders and accept.

3) Install TMPGenc Authoring Works v4.0.4.24, Run the application and close ( this step is important ), remember install, open and close.

4) Copy the keygen in install dir, by default:
C:\Program Files\Pegasys Inc\TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4

5) Open the keygen ( vista users run as administrator ) :
a) Output: dont touch this
b) Name: write your name or nick ( is optional )
c) Email: write your email if you want ( is optional ).
d) versin: change to the new version ( 4.0.4.24 )
e) Install dir: select install dir of the application, by default:
C:\Program Files\Pegasys Inc\TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4

6) Now first click on PATCH and then on GENERATE, the program its now registered, close everything and start TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4.

7) By the way, select in Windows Explorer, Tools menu and click Folder Options, Select the View Tab, Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Dont Show hidden files and folders and accept.

Also, I am disconnected from the Internet and running on administrator privileges - and yet still no luck with the keygen. I understand this is one of those stupid Vista issues where it asks for permission everytime. If it's not too much, may I ask how to manually patch it? What are the files I should copy and replace? Thanks very much for the time.

A manual patch is easy, do this;

Take the keygen file and compress it to a zip file than extract to the program file directory for the application TMPGEnc Authoring Works and BE CERTAIN to check the box "overwrite existing files" and you will have a patch in place.

All you have to do is everything above but right click on keygen and select run as administrator, he says it but not quite

There are many problems happen
1st:The brazilian directory is
C:\Arquivos de programas\Pegasys Inc\TMPGEnc Authoring Works 4 and must be replaced

2nd: I've been trying obtain the license, but it always say that Im not connected.

Help me please. I created the liscence and everything. I start up the program, and the serial number is already in place. I see no other option but to click on "obtain a license." When I do, it says "And error occurred while retrieving the liscence." What do I do.

I've done everything but the program won't start up for some reason. It remains at that screen when you first get it, to put in your name and email address. So what do I do?
