OMA released the new album by Mouse on Mars titled as “Parastrophics”.Mouse on Mars is a duo from Cologne, Germany, that has been making electronic music since 1993. Their music is a quirky and sometimes kitschy blend of techno, trance, and ambient with a heavy dollop of analogue synth sounds. Their music also uses live conventional rock instruments, such as drums, bass, and guitar.

Tom Demac’s first solo outing on Liebe Detail simultaneously explores both the dark and light sides of house music, excelling in both directions. The process is flipped on “This Is What I Want”; a gently rolling bassline and soulful vocal utterances are pinned down by mechanical growls and a harsh, snaking synth that spits acidic venom over anything that comes within range. A powerful analogue bassline dominates Soulphiction’s reimagining of “Ten from Seventeen,” and although there’s a nicely cut-up piano sample that serves as a momentary distraction, the low-end is hard to ignore and where the attention happily remains. Iron Curtis caresses a little more subtlety from his remix of the same track, teasingly his typically retro-sounding synths over firm drums with spacey, continually evolving results. The joyful organ that seeps into the mix mid-break perfectly serves as the delicious, creamy topping on what is an extremely strong EP.
