Here’s group HAGGiS with the BluRay edition of BBC’s show “Outcasts”. Overall,it was a torpid bore that failed to rise to the challenge of ensuring the characters and story are so gripping that you forget the production’s limited finances. There’s mild intrigue in a few places (like mysterious figures in the wilderness), but while it would be exciting to imagine these are native aliens, Outcasts is the kind of show you can’t help thinking it’s unwise to overestimate.Settled in the town of Forthaven on Carpathia, the Outcasts are passionate about their jobs, confident of their ideals and optimistic about the future. They work hard to preserve what they’ve built on this planet they now call home, having embraced all the challenges that come with forging a new beginning. They are led by President Tate and his core team of Stella, Cass and Fleur–they took charge and settled here first alongside Expeditionaries Mitchell and Jack. The mix of genuine forensic science with the glossiest Jerry Bruckheimer production values, plus the virtues of a good ensemble cast headed by William Peterson’s modern-day Sherlock Holmes, remains as compelling as ever.
