Sharing my experiences with this download:

1) HJsplit does not work correctly every time. I have three different .iso's sitting in my drive from the same four parts (used megaupload). All have the same checksum, but are all of unequal length. Only one installs fully.

2) "this application failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect ..." We all hear the bitching. I, for one, have NOT cleared this hurdle yet; tried installing in x64, x86, upgrading C++ (in each), upgrading .net (in each), Directx9 is up to date, and physx is not the problem. I run XP (x86 and x64 as I've stated) SP2, ATI Radeon 4850 graphics, 4Gb memory, oodles of space.

Downloading pieced files is always a gamble. I'll update if I get past the error.

ah finally its working..if your game installed fully but wen u start it says side by side error well ges wat?..we r saved..apparently dat error is only 4 vista 64 bit so u jus have to do a bit of upgradin n everybody will be happy..
steps
-Open up services.msc in run and make sure Windows module installer is running.
-Go to http://download.microsoft.com/download/A/5/4/A54BA
DB6-9C3F-478D-8657-93B3FC9FE62D/vcsetup.exe and download the installer, choose all features and let them download (about 190mb).
-When that is finished installing it should ask you to reboot, When i finished rebooting Borderlands was working for me

Thats what I did and after that it was asking for the xinput1_3.dll I downloaded and installed it

after that my computer said that that I needed a Shader Model 3.0 And I have a laptop with 128 MB graphic card with pixel shader 2.0

Sorted that one out but now I have a new error message

Don't worry... You guys aren't very quick to reply, I have solved it again.

What the hell is wrong with this DL, I installed it etc. but the game crashes AFTER I pick char and there is one loading screen T_T so I donnu, I am already searching for another dl cause this doesn't seem promising

Hi guys; I've got a problem that I think is a little different.
I've downloaded the split files using JDownloader and joined them with HJSplit; no problems there.
I'll then mount the .iso with DAEMONTools and run the installation program.
The installation program then finishes abnormally fast; it might be interrupted somehow; the progress bar stays at 100%, but the window won't close or respond or anything. There's a link to some Russian site in the lower right corner of the window.
I can try to run the possibly incomplete .exe located in C:/Program Files/Borderlands but the game crashes and gives me an error message:

I had errors like this too from time to time, last night I installed new XP Pro and tried it then, it worked but rarely I got this error during game play :< now I installed Windows 7 Pro and this installer wont finish installing >_< donnu why, I also got another installation and if it finishes installing it says there is some error with the setup and it rolls back whole installation. I also cracked the game during the installation (on my 2nd try) still it wants to roll back after it enters the game, gg

donnu what should I do, if anyone has tips for Win7 users please let me know :3

delete borderlands,reinstall directx and reinstall physx, install borderlands.

gameranger works as a lan connection u dont have to go to multiplayer from the game just open gameranger choose a borderlands roon press start and gameranger will run the game and do everything

Alright, so first of all, use this step below to install your Borderlands.

1. Extract RARs

2. Mount or Burn image

3. Install the game

4. After directx has installed copy the Borderlands.exe (265K file) file from The Razor1911\Install Folder to D:\Gearbox Software\Borderlands\Binaries

5. While Installing Still copy The Borderlands.exe (28mb file) file from The Razor1911\Crack folder to D:\Gearbox Software\Borderlands\
Where “D:\” is where you are installing the game to.

6. Play the awsome game!

2. Mount that image using alcohol120% or deamon-tools lite (power iso or similar progs will do the same job)

help!! i downloaded from megaupload and joined through HJsplit but when i install it goes all the way through then deletes the whole thing

You are using the wrong software to extract it.
I used Winrar 3.91 anf it doesn't work (PowerISO failed to)
You have to use a free software called 7-zip, from www.7-zip.org

i see that a lot of people are having problems... and i duno if this makes any difference but..
how about try un-zipping/ joining the downloaded files with 7-Zip

its like WinZip or WinRar and it works like a charm for joining files that end in
.001 .002 etc formats.

because i've never had any problems joining the files from this site using 7-Zip
most of the time the games install fine...

so hopefully that is a solution...
