The problem I get is. After successful install, I try start the application for the first time, and I get the following error message.

"This application has failed to start because d3dx9_36.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

I switched off my antivirus, reinstalled, but still cannot run the program. Any ideas?


OK, looks like this is a common problem for some games and graphics programs. I'll follow the recommendations to install latest DirectX

64 Bit installation doesn't work. Some reason reaches close to end then an error for installing some anchor failed. Also I'm running Windows 7 x64 bit.

Am I supposed to extract EVERY archived file? Also, is this compatible with Windows 7? Thanks

The 32-bit version works 100%. Long process to extract all the parts, but then winrar to reassemble all parts at the end. I didn't need use the other "Hjsplit" app. So now I have fully working Maya 2010 for 32 bit.

ONE PROBLEM. There is NO help files installed. I selected customer install, and chose all components to fun from my computer. FULL CUSTOM install. But still no help files to guide me through the product.

Anyone have the help files, or links to download them?

Could you please explain how you did it? I extracted every file from Part 1 and every file from Part 2 into separate folders. But it seems they both have within them the same files. Even after i extract every zipped files within these "part" folders, I'm not sure how to recombine them without replacing existing files with the same name (which is almost every file). Please help!

Also, this is how I got mine working

Extract the 2 "2010" files (for 32 bit), then extract all files into a new folder. Then open one at a time, and drag the .rar file, into a new folder. When you're done, you should have all 70+ .rar files in the same folder. Unrar from the first .rar archive file. You should have a successul folder extraction.

my parts files, all had different names. not sure why yours is doing that. I only used Winzip and Winrar. Nothing else, to unzip and unrar.

NO B.S., I have got the app running fully at home now, really does work !!!

I'm going to install the docs tonight, so that I can access help from my menues.

Alright I got it to work, it seems people using Windows 7 or Vista. If you get this message "1: 5 2: Failed to install/uninstall the anchor service. 3: 1007", it basically means for you in our case, to turn off the user account control (UAC) completely then restart computer and it should install just fine.

Also, I am using the 64 Bit version of Maya 2010. Installed and Activated. So it does work with Windows 7.

In the .rar file there are 2 sets of installs. 32 and 4 bit. the 2 32-bits are called maya2010 something. These 2 go together. the rest are for the 64-bit.

Follow my instructions above and you should be fine. also download and install the documentation once your have the product working.

Hi, I'm new here and I downloaded the Megaupload version. I hate to seem stupid but I need some detailed instructions as I have Vista 32/64 bit and want to install the 64 bit version. As for your instructions, there are apparently five files for the 64 bit version, and HJSplit doesn't recognize .rar so do I extract first and if so in separate folders or together. Any help would be appreciated.

I extracted and got 76 xmmmxe files, and part 4 and 5 are the same. Should I ignore or what?


Completely lost , HJSplit doesn't see any of the zip or rar files. No .exe to be found and no .txt file to help. Please, if this works show me how

When you extracted the zip folders, did you get all .rar files or some .rar and some strange files with "r" then a number?

and should I ignore the .diz files?

Nevermind, sorry to bother you people with my ignorance. I installed the 64-bit version and it works. I just installed the .msi file and when I got the d3dx9_36.dll was not found error, it was just a matter of installing DirectX 9 onto Vista. Maya is beautiful and I can't wait to start learning to get a leg up in school. Thanks Egydown!

Hi, I only used two tools to extract the installation files.

Winzip and then winrar. That's it.

you should start unrar from the first archive file. Make sure that all necessary files have been extracted to the same folder, before you start with unrar...

Are you installing the 32-bit or 64-bit version? I'm trying to remember what I got when I installed.

X-force might be the keygen/activation. I will have to go check and get back to you.

This is my sequence on "how to",

1. Download and install latest DirectX from Microsoft website

2. Run "Maya2010.msi" to install Autodesk Maya 2010

3. Depending on your OS and architecture you may be prompted to enter a serial. Use 000-00000000

4. Finish the installation & restart Autodesk Product

5. Choose to Activate
Once at the activation screen:
Run Keygen
Click on Mem Patch (you should see successfully patched)
Copy the request code into the keygen and press generate
Now copy the activation code back to the activation screen and click Next

YOu have a fully registered autodesk product



Again depending your OS, Architecture and previous installed product, you may be prompted to enter a serial or a product code, in that case use:

666-69696969

667-98989898

400-45454545

... or anything matching this template and as product code : 657B1

your problem about " d3dx9_36.dll " , is because u you dont have that .dll format, so you have to download. Download it from google, type:
"d3dx9_36.dll download" , I download it from dll-files (dot) com.

Once u have download it, you unrar that archiver to have only "d3dx9_36.dll ".

Then, u go to: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2010\bin

and paste d3dx9_36.dll and that folder, with the others dll files.

Now, your problem should be fixed(:

about those docs. If you look on their website, you get the online version of the help. Lots of web pages. The docs allow you to install into your Maya package and access them from your help menues. Local help files, instead of online...

So, I'm not usually the one to ask for advice on these things, but I was curious to see if anyone could help me out with this. I've got everything together, all the installs and what not. But when I get about half-way through the install process it tells me something has interrupted the process..

I've attempted installing this on my main HD and my backup, neither has worked.

I think I saw that once too. Not sure what OS you're using.

Disable anti-virus and make sure you're installing as local Admin.

I think I had to uninstall and start again when that happened.

Make sure you've installed th latest Direct X from MS website BEFORE you start...

I am running Windows Xp Professional and downloaded the 32 bit version of the Maya 2010 Autodesk. I have followed instructions to unpack these compressed files with success and maya runs well. I need help activating it, here's the steps I took but am running into a problem with it saying the code I use is incorrect

I open Maya 2010, it automatically brings you to the time limited screen or option to activate.Clicking Activate and then next, brings you to the activation scrreen where you are going to enter your codes. My screen already has preset serial and request activation code ...

The problem I am having is this ... I place the request code into the request bar in the and click mem.
I receive the popup that tells me crack successful. I don't get a chance to click generate when I notice in the activation bar is says .. " bad request code"

I have done this step several ways, thinking I did something wrong, I still get "bad request code where the activation bar is and when the activation screen ask me to enter a serial number, I have used every serial number that came with the instructional text file, even the existing 000-00000000 with them all telling me the serial number is incorrect. I have even double and triple checked in redoing it in case I might of type O'd something
I can't seem to activate this program to full perms for some reason. I also ran the keygen as Administrator and as local user both same results. I am hoping you can help me out
