Sarah Miles’ One, a sincerely crafted folk-pop project, inspired by the simple decision to follow her heart. She grew up in Princeton, NJ, studied at University of Vermont, and moved to New York to pursue music. She’s toured with Teddy Geiger, Tony Lucca, Ingram Hill, Matt Duke, and Pat McGee while garnering comparisons to artists such as Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, Diane Birch, and Carrie Underwood . For One, she co-wrote with Matt Duke, Steve Mandile (Tim McGraw, Kenny Rogers, Cliff Richard, Ronnie Dunn), and Ingram Hill.

Thieving Birds are a band from Fort Worth, Texas that was formed in September of 2010. These five friends combine Rock, Country, Roots and Blues to create a unique musical offering to their audience. The lyrics are thoughtful and strong being carried by the sultry and powerful voice of vocalist and guitarist Ace Crayton. The Rhythm section is filled out by the strong and solid drumming of Beau Brauer along with the precise Bass playing of Rody Molder. Guitarists John Seidler and Jon ‘Fish’ Hunt weave leads and rhythm together to create a landscape of guitar work that make you feel as if you’re moving across the terrain of their great state.

 I’m a simple girl who likes romantic comedies and frozen yogurt. I got so lucky to be able to have a job that never feels like work. I have an incredible team of silly, talented people who I make music with. They keep me laughing and inspire me beyond words. We’ve been so thrilled that the fun we have in the studio has wound up making it’s way to so many television shows, movies and ads. I love that people love the music and thank you to those who take time to write and tell me you loved the songs on Pretty Little Liars or Switched at Birth, etc. I don’t take one single note for granted.

This collaboration of roots pop married couple Guthrie and Irion with Jeff Tweedy and Patrick Sansone continues the bond of the Wilco musicians with the Guthrie family first established with 1998 and 2000’s Mermaid Ave. projects. It was then that Tweedy took Woody Guthrie’s unpublished lyrics and set them to new music. The approach here is different since Guthrie and Irion are more aligned with roots pop than rugged folk. Nowhere is that more clear than on the opening track; the playful, jaunty singalong “Chairman Meow” (not surprisingly the name of a cat), the disc’s first single. The album—the duo’s third– is divided between sunshiny, often West Coast styled strummy pop and a darker, more meditative style, the latter likely heightened by the influence of the Wilco guys’ more eclectic, experimental nature. The Wild Feathers may seem made possible by the recent mainstream tendency toward knee-slapping amalgams of country, blues, folk, and rock, but the band has its own distinctive southern flavor, born of traditional rock influences like The Band, Tom Petty, and The Allman Brothers along with deep Texas roots. (Four of the five band members hail from the Lone Star State. And, incidentally, four of the five members were lead singers in their own bands before joining T.W.F.) Freewheeling collaboration is not only what defines The Wild Feathers, it’s what set them apart.
